Is there a person in the whole world who hasn’t heard, read or watched these unbelievable adventures of a young wizard named Harry Potter and his friends? They started their thrilling yet dangerous journey in 1997 when the first book from this fantastic series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, was published by J. K. Rowling. That was a real box-office hit! Slowly, book by the book, the author was unraveling the mystery connected with Harry James Potter – all readers from different corners of the world were counting days until a new novel. What is this mega-popular book about that makes us so crazy about it?
The story begins with a small boy named Harry Potter. He lives with his terrible aunt, uncle, and cousin in an average British town. One day he receives a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry – from here his adventures begin. He becomes a student of this fantastic and extraordinary school where magic and charms are taught. He meets Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger who become his closest friends and their school routine begins. Their school life is far from being boring or ordinary. Moving staircases, flying brooms, speaking mirrors, vanishing rooms, fantastic beasts, magic wands, cloaks of invisibility, poisonous potions and many other things could be found in this school. For Harry, who haven’t heard about magic and the wizarding world until his eleventh birthday, this world is like a parallel universe where everything is unknown, exciting and promising. Plus he is treated like a hero for fighting great evil while a baby. What not to like, if to take into consideration that you have lived with nasty relatives before? Unfortunately, there was a fly in the ointment. Not everyone is kind in this wizards’ world.
Thinking that his parents died in the car crash, Harry didn’t have a clue that the real tragedy was connected with his wizarding world. As he found out later, his parents were murdered by a dark wizard, obsessed with immortality and purity of the Wizards’ blood, known as He-Who-Cannot-Be-Named – witches and wizards are afraid to even say his name. The Dark Lord or Lord Voldemort primary goal was to kill Harry as according to the eavesdropped prophecy, this child was supposed to beat him in the future. Luckily for all of the admirers of this novel, he didn’t succeed. Moreover, a deadly curse with which he tried to murder Harry, Avada Kedavra, didn’t hurt a child. It was reflected by the power of motherly love given before her death and almost destroyed the Dark Lord himself. At least, he vanished – the wizard society believed never to return. The only souvenir the Dark Lord left was a lightning-bolt scar on Harry’s forehead. But Albus Dumbledore, a prominent man in the wizarding society, was sure that he would come in the future to seek revenge – he decided to hide Harry in his relatives who were muggles.
This story of a struggle between Harry and his rival, Lord Voldemort, took seven novels and ten years to be published. It is considered to be the most fast-selling book in history! After that Warner Brother Company decided to repeat its success on the screen. Fans received a big present – eight original films about our favorite wizards. Harry’s life, his struggle, fails, victories, love, and fears have become interesting for both children and adults waiting patiently for a new novel. J. K. Rowling managed to create an interesting, kind and fascinating story about two most important things in our life – love and friendship.
This is the Life (Chapter 2)
So excuse me for forgetting
But these things I do
You see I’ve forgotten
If they’re green or they’re blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I’ve ever seen
And you can tell everybody
This is your song
It may be quite simple
But now that it’s done
I hope you don’t mind
I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is now you’re in the world
I hope you don’t mind
I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is now you’re in the world

This is the Life (Chapter 1)
It’s a little bit funny, this feeling inside,
I’m not one of those who can easily hide
Don’t have much money, but f I did,
I’d buy a big house where we both could live
If I was a sculptor, but then again, no,
or a man who makes potions in the traveling show,
I know it’s not much, but it’s the best I can do,
my gift is my song and this ones for you

The Truth on Parchment
Hermione stared at the book she was reading in her hand: Hogwarts, a History. She read this book so many times before, and four months ago, she had renewed the same book a dozen times. She wondered how boring she must have seemed.
In front of her was Harry and Ron’s workload of homework spread across two tables, yet they were nowhere in sight. Harry was in Quidditch practice for the fifth time this week and Ron was watching him in the pouring rain. It had been raining for three days straight, and it wasn’t showing any sign of letting up any time soon. Continue reading “The Truth on Parchment” »
Love and Nature (Chapter 2)
Harry was still shaken up at the close loss of his loyal owl he received as a 11th birthday present from Hagrid, the gamekeeper of Hogwarts: School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As he got off, the entire Weasley family other than Mr. Weasley and Charlie ran from the house and gave him a group hug. After a few failed times, he managed to choke out, “Can’t breathe”.
They finally all let go of him and gave him room to breathe. They all gave him a warm smile that a loving family always gives and Harry couldn’t help but return. After Harry caught his breath, he made a gesture for a hug, which the Weasleys gladly gave. Continue reading “Love and Nature (Chapter 2)” »
Love and Nature (Chapter 1)
Harry Potter was no natural boy, sure, some boys may enjoy doing homework and hate summer vacation, but that is not what separated him from the others. He is a wizard, but not just any wizard; he is a The Boy Who Lived and the one destined to defeat Voldemort once and for all.
Okay, so your first thought must be, Oh great, another famous jerk that is meant to save the world but probably too selfish to do it. Well, he is nothing like that. Sure, he may be famous, but all he desires is to be a regular boy— Well as regular as a wizard boy can be. Continue reading “Love and Nature (Chapter 1)” »
Harry Potter and the First Sage (8. Scar)
‘Fifth year.’ Harry thought while running through a drill Balthazzar had set up, “Maybe the end of forth year. Yeah, that kiss on the cheek was what did it or maybe when she hugged me and told me I was a great wizard and that I was brave during our first year and I blew it. We’ll probably snog for a few months then she’ll get tired of me, and I’ll lose not only a girlfriend by my best friend too, Merlin I’ve blew it,” He thought out loud before yelping at Balthazzar’s cane hitting hard on his knee. Harry Potter and the First Sage (7. Hermione’s ‘Dream’)
Days turned to Weeks, and Weeks turned to months, and it was now December, and Hermione and Ron hadn’t heard anything from Harry and Sirius since Sirius said he was taking Harry to try to get his magic back. To say they were worried was an understatement. Hermione especially.
“Hermione, please.” Ron pleaded, “You have to eat!” Ron pleaded shoving a bowl of soup across to her in the dinning hall. “You don’t eat like you should, you think Harry would want you getting sick?” Continue reading “Harry Potter and the First Sage (7. Hermione’s ‘Dream’)” »
Harry Potter and the First Sage (6. The First Sage)
It was after dark on Privet Drive, as a man in a long dark cloak made his way to the Dursley home. He finally made it to the door and knocked on the door. Dudley came to the door and looked at the cloaked figure.
“Father told me to tell you we paid at the office!” Dudley snapped and started to slam the door. Continue reading “Harry Potter and the First Sage (6. The First Sage)” »
Harry Potter and the First Sage (5. Petunia’s Past)
“What’s all the ruckus up here?” Aunt Petunia asked walking back into the room, “Have you finished your snack yet, dear, would you like more?”

“Of course, Harry.” Petunia said with a smile. Continue reading “Harry Potter and the First Sage (5. Petunia’s Past)” »
