Kate rolled her head tiredly as the elevator doors closed. It had been a long weekend, no one on the team had had a break since late Thursday. Now it was… she glanced at her watch. After three on Monday afternoon. At least the case was wrapped up. What an ugly way to spend a weekend, investigating a murder/suicide. And right before Valentine’s Day, too. If you enjoy long-lasting drama series about police routine, American TV series NCIS will be your best choice to spend a great evening with popcorn watching exciting investigations and dramatic plot twists. The story dwells upon the Naval Criminal Investigation Service or NCIS, a unique group of investigators, whose job is to investigate any crimes connected with U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. This TV series, which was created as a spin-off of a famous TV show JAG or Judge Advocate General, now can boast fourteen seasons and a huge audience all over the world. The story has the continuation – two additional spin-off series, NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans.
This story starts with a group of special agents working in the Naval Criminal Investigation Service responsible for investigating of any crimes committed by U.S. Navy and Marine representatives as well as their relatives. They constitute a special Major Case Response Team which is the driving force of all criminal inquiries in this field. Members of this team are professionals in their fields helping to stop and prevent power abuse in the navy service. The head of this group is Leroy Gibbs, a senior agent with rich working experience in investigations plus a former outstanding sniper.
Being a Marine sergeant, he had been the part of many dangerous missions, including the Gulf War in Iraq. At that time his daughter and wife were killed by representatives of the Mexican drug cartel. He decided to retire after the Gulf War and left the Marine service to join the NCIS. When he got a full amount of information about what had happened with his family, he was on the verge of collapse. But his anger was deeper than his grief. Leroy went to Mexico to take his revenge on a drug lord and punished him. He concealed this event in secret for twenty years until someone decided to take vengeance.
In the process of their work, this group included three major field agents – Timothy McGee, Anthony DiNozzo, and Eleanor Bishop. A graduate from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a computer guru, Timothy McGee is a real savvy in computer forensics. Anthony DiNozzo, once a homicide detective, joined this group to forget about his partner being charged with corruption and became Leroy’s deputy in the depertment. An analyst and the former NSA agent, Eleanor Bishop, was almost the last to join the team. Her job is to analyze terroristic attacks and relevant data to predict and prevent future threats.
Throughout the fourteen seasons, there were a lot of changes considering new members of this team. The most painful change is connected with a sudden death of the former officer, Caitlin Todd, who had been murdered by Ari Haswari, an agent who worked as an assassin for Mossad, an Israel intelligence organization, and who failed to kill Gibbs. His main aim was to harm the NCIS. Later he was killed by Caitlin’s successor in this team, Ziva David. Being his half-sister, she worked as an intelligence officer in Mossad organization. Having been kept and tortured in the Mossad military camp in Somali, Ziva David decided to quit her job there and to be given a chance to become a full-fledged agent working with the NCIS. Other members of this group are Abigail Sciuto, a brilliant forensic expert with Gothic preferences in clothes, and Dr. Donald Mallard, known as “Ducky,” an eccentric head medical examiner.
The plot of this TV series is complicated and versatile including numerous twists, unexpected turning points, romantic events, and tragic situations which make it very interesting to watch.
Billy Goats Gruff
Gibbs worked on bending the board that would be the outside of the boat. This was a tricky job, but he looked forward to all the time he had to do it. This was the first Saturday that he had off that he didn’t find some excuse to go into the office.
Now Gibbs was in heaven. There was only one thing that would make it better, but that would be breaking rule 12 of Gibbs’ rules. That just wasn’t something he wouldn’t do–not even for Kate. Continue reading “Billy Goats Gruff” »
